How to be the Happiest Woman - Sheikh Yahya Ibrahim

In the Name of Allah,The Most Merciful and Most Compassionate

How to be the Happiest Woman- Sheikh Yahya Ibrahim

Part 1

Part 2

How to find happiness, how to keep happiness, how to appreciate happiness

1. Trusting Allah swt. Believe in Qadr.

2. Master the fundamentals of your life.

- Solat (Prayer)
- Recitation of the Quran
- Dzikr in the morning and evening
- Tasbih

"Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah. for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction."
Ar-Ra'du 13:28

3. Learn from your parents' life.

Learn from the story of Prophet Ibrahim and his father.

"O my father! to me hath come knowledge which hath not reached thee: so follow me: I will guide thee to a way that is even and straight."

"O my father! serve not Satan: for Satan is a rebel against ((Allah)) Most Gracious."

"O my father! I fear lest a Penalty afflict thee from ((Allah)) Most Gracious, so that thou become to Satan a friend."

(The father) replied: "Dost thou hate my gods, O Abraham? If thou forbear not, I will indeed stone thee: Now get away from me for a good long while!"

Abraham said: "Peace be on thee: I will pray to my Lord for thy forgiveness: for He is to me Most Gracious.
Maryam 19:43-47

*The meaning of 'Ya Abati' (my father in Arabic) has a deep meaning.*

4. Practice Islam everyday. It takes practice and determination to come closer to Allah.

Islam begins in your heart.

5. Ilm(Knowledge) is important.

You can not be a successful muslim without knowledge.

The thing that differentiate between a bad muslim, a good muslim and a great muslim is ilm. Knowledge translates into taqwa, piety in their heart.

Those truly fear Allah, among His Servants, who have knowledge: for Allah is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving.
Faatir 35:28

They know and understand why they should be afraid and fear of Allah.

6.  Don't let people get into your head. Don't let people mess with you.

A muslim's reaction is not based on what happened to him, or what people did, instead he acts based  on what Allah ordered. (Rasulullah did this). If someone hurts you, don't hurt him/her back.

"For us Allah suffices, and He is the best disposer of affairs."
Al-Imran 3:174

7. Know how to respond to failure.

First- Don't pretend nothing is wrong. Recognize the mistakes. Look around and open your eyes.
Second - Be decisive. Understand the situation, and take action, put the trust in Allah (tawakkal)
Third - Don't make decisions that includes yourself only. Make a fair decision for others too. Don't be selfish. (Should be open to discussions - syura)

8. Fear is an illusion.
He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything).
Taha 20:46

Fear is natural. However fear that restricts you from life is unacceptable. Push yourself thru that fear.

Will ye not fight people who violated their oaths, plotted to expel the Messenger, and took the aggressive by being the first (to assault) you? Do ye fear them? Nay, it is Allah Whom ye should more justly fear, if ye believe!
At-Tawbah 9:13

9. Just do it. Get out there and do it.

- You want to learn Quran? Do it. Practice.
- You want to pray? Pray. Do it.

This is one of the secret of happiness and success- a person feels within himself that he can do it.
Prophet Muhammad was very doubtful that he could make it (to give warn to his people), therefore Allad said :

Arise and warn! (deliver your warning)
Al-Muddaththir 74:2

Have that desire to bring yourself and others towards Allah. Never be hindered by the fear.

10. You can't do it alone. You need help and support.

Surround yourself with people think alike and have the same desire and happiness in their life.

11. Seek Excellence. Excellence speaks for itself.

Walk the 'walk' not just walk the talk. Show excellence in everything you do.

He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving
Al-Mulk 67:2

12. Believe that your du'a (prayers) will be answered.

Make prayers to Allah, to assist us in seeking excellence and the desire that we want.

Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere,
Al-Baqarah 2:155

We,human will be tested. Therefore make prayers.

Remember the story of Prophet Zakariya, who asked Allah for an offspring even though it seemed almost impossible because he's old, and his wife had never given birth. Allah answered to their prayers with the birth of Prophet Yahya. Subhanallah.

Behold! he(Prophet Zakariya) cried to his Lord in secret,

He said,"My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to you, my Lor, unhappy."

"Now I fear (what) my relatives (and colleagues) (will do) after me: but my wife is barren: so give me an heir as from Thyself

"(One that) will (truly) represent me, and represent the posterity of Jacob (Prophet Yaakub); and make him, O my Lord! one with whom You are well-pleased!"

(His prayer was answered): "O Zakariya! We give thee good news of a son: His name shall be Yahya: on none by that name have We conferred distinction before."

He said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son, when my wife is barren and I have grown quite decrepit from old age?"

He said: "So (it will be) your Lord say, 'that is easy for Me: I did indeed create you before, when you had been nothing!'"
Maryam 19:3-9

Make du'a of the most impossible things. Allah hears them all.

13. When it's time to change, - change!

Sometimes we get stuck, doing the same routine all the time. When there's need to change, change it. Adapt yourself to change (a better change). Allah will not change you unless you change yourself.

Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they change it themselves (with their own souls)
Ar-Ra'd 13:11

14. The best is usually the simplest.

'Do those deeds which you can do easily, as Allah will not get tired [of giving rewards] till you get bored and tired [of performing good deeds! ... and the most beloved deed to Allah is the one which is done regularly even if it is little'(Bukhari).

15. Demand the best from others.

Demand with your actions. Rasulullah teaches us to offer the best to Allah, our family.

“The best of you is the best to his family, and I am the best to my family.” (Jame’ al Tirmidhee)

However the demands come when you are offering the same (equality). Give the best, and and know that you deserve the best in return.

And due to the women is similar what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable
Al-Baqarah 2:228

Whatever you receive, exceeds the favor shown.

16. Guard your emotions.

Take example from Prophet Musa, who guarded his emotion. He was scared but he hid it and held his emotion.

So Moses conceived in his mind a (sort of) fear.

We said: "Fear not! for you has indeed the upper hand.

"Throw that which is in your right hand: Quickly will it swallow up that which they have faked what they have faked is but a magician's trick: and the magician thrives not, (no matter) where he goes."
Taha 20:67-69

Know how to control your emotions, hide it, and sometimes show it, at the right place.

17. Love what you do.

Enjoy the adventures and difficulties. Look for the things that will make you happy. Seek passion in whatever you do.

18. Forget the past. Ignore the future, live in the present.

Stop saying 'If'.
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

A strong believer is better and is more lovable to Allah than a weak believer, and there is good in everyone, (but) cherish that which gives you benefit (in the Hereafter) and seek help from Allah and do not lose heart, and if anything (in the form of trouble) comes to you, don't say: If I had not done that, it would not have happened so and so, but say: Allah did that what He had ordained to do and your" if" opens the (gate) for the Satan.

Reference : Sahih Muslim 2664

19. Ignore the future. Don't plan too far.

Look for what you can do today.

And let every soul look to what it has put forth for tomorrow
Al-Hasyr 59:18

Say: None in the heavens or on earth, except Allah, knows what is hidden: nor can they perceive when they shall be raised up (for Judgment).
An-Naml 27:65

20. Live the present. Don't become too fixated.

***

"Why should I be happy?" she asked herself, and she saw the answer from her friend's status, 'Because a happy girl is the prettiest'. Indeed, but she should realize her self value, and be able to love herself, in order to love others.

Be a happy woman, and makes others happy too.

Bi iznillah.
